Review:
The Dell Inspiron 620/620s Desktop comes in two sizes, the slim tower and mini tower form. The slim version has black front bezel. Aside from the cabinet, the Inspiron slim also has a number of features such as the Dell US keyboard, 18.5 inch monitor and Dell MS111 USB mouse. However, the speakers are not included in the packaged and are to be separately purchased. If you don’t prefer black, you can choose from among the 4 other colors in this series such as Formosa Red, Solid White, Deep Purple and Peacock Blue.
The cabinet comes with fair build quality. The cabinet of the slim tower comes with glossy black bezel outlined in front by a silver border. The rest of the exterior of the cabinet is black in color, measuring 14.9 inch H x 4.2 inch W and 17.01 inch D. It has four rubber stands at the best and on the right side that allowed the cabinet to be positioned upright vertically or horizontally on the side as per your space requirement.
There are two front flip panels that are placed at the top of the cabinet that reveal the optical drive and number of ports for headphone, 2 USB ports, microphone jack and a slot for multi card reader. At the front area of the cabinet is where the Dell logo is displayed. The power button is placed below the logo of Dell with access indicator LED hard drive that is placed below the power button.
Just like other cabinets, you need to take out the 2 screws of the removable left slide of the cabinet to access the interior. Dell did a very good job in wiring the innards that reduces the clutter and provides clean organization with the modules of the hardware including graphics card, memory and hard drive that becomes easily accessible. It comes with an exhaust fan that is situated on top of the processor and hard disk front. It also features 250W power supply. The power supply is placed at the cabinet’s bottom which is a favorable choice as it can offer better ventilation into the interior of the cabinet.
The LED widescreen backlit display in 18.5 inches is bordered with glossy and black bezel. The viewing angles are decent from the vertical and horizontal angle of viewing. The Dell Mouse also works well but it does not have great look or feel. The Inspiron 620s run into an Intel 2nd Generation Sandy Bridge processor.
Overall, the Dell Inspiron 620/620s Desktop is great in terms of performance and the kind of features it brings along.
